I have some very exciting news to share with you all!
Last week Chris and I found out that we will be getting an extra special Christmas gift this year…a niece!!
You all remember my beautiful sister-in-law Maureen, right?
Well, she and my brother-in-law are expecting their second baby mid December and it’s a girl!
They have a pretty great track record of producing ridiculously cute kids — so far they’re 1 for 1 with our little nephew PJ.
I mean, it just doesn’t get cuter than this!
Needless to say, we are very excited to meet the newest addition to the family in December. We may have already picked up a couple of things for her. And I think PJ is going to score big time out of this arrangement since every time we get something for the baby, we also get something for him. Being aunty and uncle is a tough job, but someone’s gotta do it!
Today was pretty much your regular old Monday, but even better since I got to run today!
Breakfast was a simple old favourite this morning.
Porridge with brown sugar, banana, almond milk and almonds. Delightful!
I will never be unhappy with this breakfast. Never ever, ever.
Lunch was weird today but it worked!
I had my first experience with sunflower butter and it is just delicious. Nutty and seedy and wonderful.
Sunflower butter on whole wheat bread, blueberries and deli ham.
After work I had to run a few errands and planned to head out on an evening run when I got home. I left at about 5:50 which meant I was running in patches of heavy fog, some areas where the sun had broken through and got to see some of my favourite views.
I set out with no Garmin, no pace, no splits etc. Just me, my thoughts and 5 beautiful trail miles.
I finished the 5 miles and then did some quick hill repeats. 4 X 10 second hill repeats with active recovery between.
I swear this is actually a gradual hill and not a flat road.
I finished with some planking, foam rolling and stretching.
Not 100% pain-free, but a definite improvement! Hooray!
I hope you all had a lovely Monday!
Anything exciting planned for the week ahead?
I am excited to be getting my hair done on Thursday! I’m going to take this picture in and hope for the best. I definitely don’t have the best track record with hair dressers in the city!
