Yes, you read that right. A bowl of bacon. We’ll be getting to that shortly!
I hope you’ve all been having a lovely weekend so far! Ours over here has been pretty relaxing which has been nice!
Yesterday we chillaxed in the morning (a rest day for my poor legs after spinning and running) and then headed out to do lots of car related business.
With our move (#1) coming up in a few weeks and our big move (move #2) at the end of the year, we are in need of a second car. We headed off to look at used cars (which I actually love doing!) and then to take a test drive of a short-term lease car that I think we’re actually going to go with! If you haven’t heard of this, basically there’s a site called LeaseTrader where people advertise their cars with however many remaining months are left on their lease. They want to give up the car for one reason or another and you basically just take over their payments for the remainder of the lease period and then give the car back to the dealer at the end! Ta-dah! A car for 10 months, perfect.
Lunch…
All this car work makes a lady hungry! Since we were in the neighbourhood of one of our favourite places, Liverpool Lil’s we headed on over for a delicious burger lunch (well, so we hoped!).
Lil’s is a really cute, really dark, kitschy kind of place and I love it there.
Unfortunately the burger (which is usually awesome) was over done and a little bland this time, boooo.
The margarita however, was right on point.
I scoffed basically all of my fries but only ended up eating about half the burger. Sadness.
Dinner…
After a couple of hours relaxing at home, we headed downtown to Sauce Belden for a drink, some food and good times.
I went for my usual Ginger Cosmopolitan…
I love this drink and get one every time I’m at Sauce Belden, buuuttt I must say I had some drink envy over Chris’ mojito. Eric (EZ) the bartender, easily makes the best mojito Chris and I have ever had. Big call? Yes, and very true!
For eats, we decided to split the social sampler plate which came with Portobello fries, devilled eggs and mini pot pies (all awesome). And what’s that at the back you might ask? Oh, just a bowl of bacon. Yep, a whole bowl of delicious, crispy bacon. Life doesn’t get better than that. It just doesn’t!
We finished up our plate and a taste of a steak and cheese wonton from Chef Ben (how does he come up with these things??). Chris enjoyed a couple more refreshments and then it was time to battle the Chinese New Year crowds home. Another fun night!
…………….
I had an 8 mile run on the agenda for early this morning but after a really restless night of sleep, I decided to sleep in and head out a bit later.
Breakfast…
I had my usual pre-long run breakfast of oats made with water and sprinkled with a little brown sugar and a cup of tea.
Workout…
I let breakfast settle for a while and ended up heading out around 10:30. I was a lot little nervous for this run since it’s been three weeks now since my last long run! I was nervous that my fitness level would have dropped and that my knee wouldn’t be up for the challenge.
I’m happy to report that everything was A-OK! Yaaaay!
I finished 8 miles and actually took over a minute off my last 8 mile distance time. Hooray!
I finished sweaty and happy!
Why is my ear yellow? Weird!
I finished up with a cool down walk, lots of stretching and some foam rolling. Oh how I love to roll!
………………
Now it’s time to get this apartment spick and span for my parents arrival on Thursday! I haven’t seen them since our wedding so I’m sooo excited!!
Question;
How often do you get to see your parents? Do you live in the same area?

I would like a bowl of crispy bacon. Now.
