Today I heard a very sad thing, but we’ll get to that in a minute!
First things first, a little recap of the day.
Lunch…
Again, I failed at packing my lunch for work. Wup wowwww. And so yet again, I was at the mercy of my ‘work family’ to feed me. This actually wasn’t an issue today since I can safely say that if I was at home, I would have probably had the exact same thing. I was craving a cereal for lunch day! I had a little mix match of corn Chex and Gorilla Munch (this stuff is the goods!).
Since I know a bowl of straight cereal would have kept me full for a total of 3 minutes and 18 seconds, I added a little protein punch with a healthy dollop of Fage greek yogurt and some fresh blueberries and blackberries. Deeeeelish!
………….
It was also kind of a special day today! It was a certain someone’s half birthday!
Happy Half Birthday Chris!!! Yes it’s weird to celebrate someone’s half birthday but I know how lucky I am with my spunk of a husband so I will celebrate any mini celebration of him coming into this world. Ewwwww sappy!
………
Now back onto the sad news I heard today. While I was working on some valentine’s crafts with the kiddies, I found out that my little nanny girl’s school has a strict ‘No Holiday Policy’. Not just around the end of the year, a serious NO HOLIDAY POLICY!
Now, don’t get me wrong, I understand the incredibly P.C world that we now live in and I know that celebrating Christmas Vs Hanukkah Vs anything else can become confusing during December…but no Valentine’s Day?? That just makes me sad!
No cutting out hearts, sticking sparkly stickers around the place, coming home with special valentine’s for your parents from school. I don’t know, I just wonder sometimes if kids are being raised in the world who will not only be P.C conscious but experience just a little less magic than we did growing up. Kids should be kids. It all goes too fast as it is, if they don’t get the opportunity to be silly, crafty, spread a little extra love in the world on February 14th now, then when will they? If you ask me, I think we should celebrate all holidays! But that’s just me. And that’s my random thought for today!
………….
Workout (or lack thereof)…
Today was a rest day (doctor’s orders) so I can get out and run tomorrow and see how it all goes. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
Instead of working out, I opted for some quality TV/Annie cuddle time with a little trail mix.
I ended up having quite the spotty afternoon!
And now I’m off to get things cookin’ in the kitchen!
I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine’s Day eve!

VALENTINES DAY IS NOT A HOLIDAY.
Day off = holiday.
No day off = not a holiday.
So….what you’re saying is that you agree with me!
