Renewed Pilates Love!

Haaaeeeey!

Sorry it’s been a while blog friends.  I hope you all had a lovely Monday!

I was lucky and got to enjoy a lot of the great outdoors during work today.  I don’t know why I never realised before, but the place where I work is literally about a 10 minute walk from Baker Beach (a pretty iconic San Francisco beach).  Today was the perfect day to realise this since it was b-e-a-utiful outside!

Baker Beach

Baker Beach

My gorgeous girlfriend Liz (remember the most beautiful pregnant woman alive?) has a great story about Baker Beach and every time I’m there, I think about it.  When she first came to San Francisco from the east coast many years ago now, she was standing on Baker Beach, looking at the Golden Gate Bridge and decided on the spot that this was where she wanted to be.  Now years later, a marriage and an (almost) baby she’s still here.  I love that story!

I got to experience it today with my littlest work buddy and we had a blast running down to the waters edge and dipping our toes in.  There’s nothing quite like experiencing the beach through a kids eyes.

Sunshiney day!

Sunshiney day!

It was not a bad day at the office, that’s for sure!

Mexico anyone?

Mexico anyone?

Lunch…

Lunch today was a bit of a snacky one, and hence, no photos! I really need to learn my lesson.  The more I snack, the more I want to snack! If I take the time to sit down and eat a proper lunch, I feel fuller and I’m way less likely to snack.  Must.Pack.Lunch.

Workout…

I’ve been feeling sorry for myself and my knee the past couple of days (it’s really been acting up) so I sat around this afternoon wondering what I should do that wouldn’t aggravate it (all I wanted to do is run run run!).  Annie was very concerned.

"I'm sorry your knee hurts, I'll observe it from my shoulder perch".

I took a peek at the class schedule at my gym and saw that there was a pilates class at 6pm that wasn’t full yet, miracle!! I signed up quick smart, changed and headed off to the gym.

I arrived with 15 minutes to spare and grabbed the one last remaining bike.  When I turned on the bike’s TV, something wonderful happened!

"Robin of Loxley"!

“Robin of Loxley”!

Robin Hood Men in Tights was on!! “Oh Robin, you lost your arms in battle.  But you grew some nice boobs!”.  Needless to say, the 15 minutes/4 miles flew by and I was ready for pilates.

It’s been a long while since I’ve done a pilates class and it was awesome.  We did a lot of work while lying on a foam roller which was very tough and I have a feeling that my abs are going to be on fire tomorrow! Definitely a step up from my disappointment the other day.

Commeee onnnn burning abs!

In knee news, I have an appointment tomorrow evening after work with Chris’ chiropractor which I’m hoping will help a lot! He’s going at 5:30 and I’m at 6! Chiro budddiieess!

Indian cooking is on the menu for tonight and I have a feeling it’s going to be good!

See you all tomorrow!
