Weekly Workout Wrap Up!

It’s the weeeekkkeeeennd! And a three-day one at that! Yes, yes yes.  Good news all around!

Breakfast…

Today started off on a tasty note with a simple classic.

Repeat Breakfast.

Repeat Breakfast.

Toasted whole wheat muffin, PB, banana, chia seeds and yogurt…yum! No this photo is most definitely not from today…sprung! It’s from a couple of days ago but I had the exact same breakfast today with one little difference.

Black Cherry

Black Cherry

I tried the black cherry Oikos flavour for the first time.  I didn’t love it which isn’t really a surprise since I don’t really like cherries to begin with.  They just kind of taste metallic or something.  Even with that said, the creaminess of greek yogurt could make anything taste good, so the whole tub was still inhaled, no problemo!

Lunch…

Lunch today was courtesy of whatever I was making for the kiddies.  Since they had Annie’s mac and cheese on the agenda, I made up a little bowl for myself while I was at it.

I popped some frozen edamame in the mix to boost their veggie content, and mine.  Win, win.

I finished off my lunch with a couple of slices of delicious apple.

An apple a day...

An apple a day…

After work was over and the weekend had officially begun, I took myself down to Fleet Feet to get some help with my splints…shin splints that is! The very nice man took a look at my shoes and my feet and how I walk etc and prescribed some super feet insoles which should hopefully give me a little more support and help with the pain…fingers crossed! While I was there, I also picked up a little fuel that I think I’ll be needing for this weekend’s 8 miler (yikes!).

Chomp chomp.

This running thing is getting kinda serious…

Workout…

Since I was in the area and had newly equipped feet, I took myself down to Chrissy Field to get in a quick run and test them out.

I did a quick 3.24 miles in 28:03 mins and had a pretty sweet backdrop.

It was fun to run in a different part of the city since my runs are always from my front door.  Also knowing that this is where I’ll be running my first half marathon made me really excited!

Now I’m ready for the weekend!

  1. How amazing to be able to run the Golden Gate bridge!! It’s so fun taking advantage of landmarks like that. I have a friend in Philadelphia who runs the “Rocky Steps” several times a week, so cool!!
