Good morning!
I hope your Tuesday is going nicely so far!
Dinner…
Dinner last night was a little bit of a failure I’m sad to say! I had high hopes for a nice roast chicken with veggies to be ready on the table when Chris got home. It was pretty much ready when he got home but roasty toasty? It was not. Wah!
It had so much promise going in…
Unfortunately I made a rookie error and put the chicken in upside down. I actually thought about this and did it on purpose because I thought you were supposed to put the breasts down to keep them from drying out BUUUUUT that also means that they don’t get nice and crispy. Oops!!
Long story short, the veggies ended up being very done (although I actually really like them like that) and the chicken just didn’t get nice and roasty and crispy. Boooo, ah well there’s always next time!
The good news was that dessert was much better!
I mixed up some non-fat greek yogurt with blueberries, blackberries and a little drizzle of honey.
A nice ending to a sad sad night (just kidding, it wasn’t all bad!).

Workout…
After a little sleep in with my fave furry buddy, who was actually sleeping on my back, I headed off to the gym.
Since I got to the gym at about 8:15, it was nice and empty, hooray! To get our gym actually quiet in the morning, you have to be there either right at 5:30am or a little later towards 8:30 otherwise it’s a mad house in there!
Today’s workout started with 30 minutes on the elliptical machine followed by some strength, focussing mainly on my upper body and core.
For good measure, I also did a two-minute wall-sit. OUUUUCH feel the burn! I varied my height on the wall every 20 seconds which kept me sane but I made sure to make some of those intervals reaaaaally low. <Get low! get low! > Anyone? Anyone?
And I finished off with a good 15 minutes of blissful stretching.
Breakfast…
By the time I was on my last stretch, I was getting grumpy hungry! Luckily, I had the idea to mix breakfast up before I even left for the gym.
I used my usual recipe for overnight oats and left it in the fridge for the hour I was away.
I was so glad I did because I came home to this beauty…
An extra splash of almond milk and some blueberries made for a sweet post-workout breakfast.
Oh so easy and oh so tasty! Perfect.
And now I’m off to shower because I smell like a foot.
Happy day all!

It wasn’t a fail, it had great flavor!
