Hello world!
How is your Saturday working out?
Mine’s been feeling all around, a little deflated. You know that post-christmas/holiday, post family time sort of feeling? The best way I can describe it is ‘deflated’. Yes, there’s more room in our apartment and less stress from having family in town, but I still love me some family time!
One thing that was helping with this feeling a little bit today was doing some research for our upcoming trip to….NEW ORLEANS!! I’m soo excited!!
We are planning a long weekend there in April, just after I run my first half marathon. It will be perfect timing for some serious New Orleans eatin’!
Chris actually went to school there at Tulane so he’s really excited to show me around and I’m very excited to be a full on city tourist. It’s been ages since I’ve explored a new city and I can’t wait!
Lunch…
After researching and reaching out to hotels etc, Chris and I worked up quite an appetite (you know, typing does that sometimes!). We decided to walk to the very nearby sandwich shop and pick up some goodies.
I decided on a sandwich with turkey, lettuce, avocado and bacon and it was ridiculously HUGE!
I mean this thing was ri-donk a donk.
I just don’t think I’ll ever get used to the size of the meals in the U.S! I ate half of it and stashed the rest in the fridge for tomorrow.
After lunch and a quick cat nap (I’ve been exhausted lately!) we headed to the mall to the Apple store to sort out some battery issues Chris has been having lately.
While we were there, I picked up a little sum sum for myself which will hopefully help me in my half marathon training that officially kicks off tomorrow! Woop Woop!
Here’s hoping I can be distracted for my 6 mile run tomorrow!
After our time at Apple (always a nightmare) we had some returns to do at World Market. I had my first experience at World Market just a couple of weeks ago and was so sad that I hadn’t discovered it earlier! It has everything! I LOVE it there!
I can’t believe the stuff in there, and all for totally decent prices! YES! I love finding new-to-me treasures.
The only thing we picked up this time was some beer for Chris and we were on our way home.
I had a couple of snacks when I got home while catching up with my best girl.
She had her little eye on my MnM’s BIG time! Sorry Annie, no chocolate for dogs.
Now I’m enjoying kicking up my feet with a glass of the good stuff and flipping through the photo book of our honeymoon that was one part of my Christmas present to Chris.
Ohhhh the memories!
Happy Saturday night all!

NORLANS! So jealous!
I know I’m so excited!!
